US yields near 5%: Is the long-term bull cycle entering its final stage? [Video]

If you have been following our analysis for a while, you may remember that we were already looking for higher US yields back in December 2025, when we prepared our special market outlook for the year ahead. Since then, US yields have moved nicely higher, and the US 10-year yield has now reached the important 5% area. Members update-previous chart The move has been supported by persistent inflation, strong economic data and, more recently, the sharp rise in crude oil. Markets have also become much more confident that the Fed will raise rates, with a rate hike now almost fully priced in for Wednesday. But could yields be getting close to a top? This is where things become interesting. Markets usually move on expectations of what central banks will do next, rather than simply reacting to what they are doing today. For months, investors have been repricing the possibility of higher Fed rates, and this has helped push the 10-year yield towards 5%. But once the Fed actually starts hiking, the focus will quickly shift to the next question: how many more hikes can they deliver? Wrapped Bitcoin Risks: Why Institutions Focus on Rehypothecation

Peter Zhang Sep 15, 2026 15:20 Wrapped BTC products like cirBTC face scrutiny over rehypothecation risks and reserve transparency. Learn why institutions care about segregated collateral. Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) products, which allow Bitcoin (BTC) to be used in decentralized finance (DeFi), have drawn increasing scrutiny from institutional players due to risks surrounding rehypothecation and reserve transparency. Circles newly launched cirBTC aims to address these concerns, positioning itself as a more transparent wrapped BTC option for institutional users. At its core, wrapped BTC transforms native Bitcoin into a tokenized asset that can function in blockchains like Ethereum or lending protocols such as Aave. However, the structure of these products matters greatly, as past market cycles have revealed weaknesses in how reserves are held and disclosed. For example, during periods of market stress, certain wrapped BTC products such as those tied to now-defunct entities like FTX saw redemptions suspended or tokens trade at a discount due to doubts about their backing. Rehypothecation Risks in Wrapped BTC Rehypothecation—the reuse of pledged collateral—is a significant risk factor for wrapped BTC. In traditional finance, this practice is often tightly regulated, requiring disclosure and compensation for the underlying asset holders. In DeFi, rehypothecation has historically lacked such guardrails, creating multiple claims on

Can ARB post a 70X surge by 2030?

Arbitrum (ARB) pares losses, trading at $0.135 on Tuesday as the crypto market awaits the United States (US) Senate vote on the CLARITY Act. The Ethereum (ETH) Layer-2 token consolidates after a rally to $0.207 on September 6, the highest level ARB has traded at since January. A break above the immediate supply at $0.140 would help to provide a tailwind for a sustained recovery. However, investors should temper expectations if ARB remains below that hurdle, raising the odds of a continued downtrend. Arbitrum could surge 70X by 2030 Standard Chartereds Kendrick Geoffrey, the global head of digital assets research, predicted in an email sent to Stocktwits on Monday that ARB could rise to $10 by the end of 2030. Such a steady growth would mark an approximately 70X increase from the current market level. Geoffrey cited Arbitrums recent launch on Robinhood Chain, which, in his view, cements the protocol as an emerging leading platform for bringing traditional finance (TradFi) assets on-chain. “The recent Robinhood Chain launch has demonstrated the potential for Arbitrum to become the number 1 choice for TradFi when bringing assets on-chain,” Geoffrey told Stocktwits in the email. Kendrick projects Arbitrums monthly revenue to climb to approximately $5 million in September, driven by

XRP sees $206.6M whale transfer - Could heavy supply cap the recovery?

XRPs recent rally has been accompanied by an interesting shift in trader derivatives positioning. The altcoin climbed from roughly $1.00 to $1.42, yet traders have steadily reduced their outstanding exposure. By the end of August, the 30-day Open Interest (OI) in XRP for Bybit had reached around 61 million XRP. Later on, it fell dramatically through the first two weeks of September to -37.5 million XRP. The drop represented a 98.5 million XRP turnaround, while the price gained about 42%. The divergence suggests XRPs advance was not as a result of a fresh build-up of leverage but spot-driven accumulation. Source: CryptoQuant While decreased OI does provide evidence that there are fewer trades taking place, it does not clarify if those trades were short or long. Therefore, the data rules out a leverage-fueled rally leaving open whether the reduction was driven primarily by long profit-taking or short squeezes. XRP holds its August gains That shift in derivatives exposure comes as XRP‘s price remains firmly above its August breakout level. XRP’s price surged from approximately $1.00 to nearly $1.70 in just three days. Since then, XRP has been in an extended consolidation mode. XRPs price has traded between approximately $1.30 and $1.49 since late August. Buyers have defended most
