US President Trump announced on Tuesday that he was pausing the US operation to escort commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz “for a short period of time,” citing what he said was “great progress” toward an agreement with Iran. His statement came after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio asserted that the US had concluded combat operations against Iran and was fully focused on the new mission. Data released by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) on Tuesday showed that the Services Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) declined to 53.6 in April from 54.0 in March. This figure came in better than the forecast of 53.7. The US Federal Reserve (Fed) decided to leave the benchmark federal funds rate at a target range of 3.50% to 3.75% following its April policy meeting. This marked the third consecutive hold as policymakers navigate persistent

Pound Sterling Price News & Forecast: GBP/USD gains positive traction for the second straight day

Pound Sterling scales higher as USD weakens amid renewed US-Iran peace deal hopes The GBP/USD pair attracts buyers for the second consecutive day on Wednesday and moves away from the weekly low, around the 1.3515-1.3510 area, which was touched the previous day. The optimism over a potential US-Iran peace deal undermines the safe-haven US Dollar (USD) and lifts spot prices to the 1.3580 region during the Asian session. US President Donald Trump said that ‘Project Freedom’ – aimed at restoring commercial shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz – will be paused for a short period of time to see if the Iran peace deal can be finalised. This comes hours after US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that the US-Iran ceasefire holds for now and that the US was not seeking to re-escalate tensions with Tehran. The comments lift hopes for a quick resolution of the US-Iran conflict and boost investors confidence, prompting some selling around the USD and providing a goodish lift to the GBP/USD pair. Microsoft Finds Just 13% of Firms Reward AI-Driven Workplace Reinvention

Microsofts 2026 Work Trend Index Annual Report shows workers are moving ahead with artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Yet, in many cases, employers fail to redesign systems, incentives, and metrics to capture the value. The report identifies a “Transformation Paradox.” It suggests that forces driving AI adoption are simultaneously suppressing it. A Sharp Divide in Workplace AI Readiness Microsoft analyzed trillions of anonymized Microsoft 365 productivity signals. It also surveyed 20,000 workers across markets, including the US, UK, India, and Japan. The findings show a sharp gap between individual and organizational readiness. About 58% of AI users say they now produce work that was impossible a year ago. That figure rises to 80% among Frontier Professionals. “A growing share of workers are using AI in advanced, resourceful ways. The problem? Most organizations arent keeping up. In many cases, people are ready. The systems around them are not,” the report read. Frontier Professionals represent 16% of surveyed AI users. They run multi-step agent workflows, redesign processes, and create shared standards across teams. Every firm will need to reconceptualize work as they build agentic systems. As AI and agents take on more of the execution, the opportunity is to expand human agency and redesign how work gets done. An in-depth look from

Citi exec says fragmented crypto systems risk repeating old banking problems

Miami Beach, FL — Tokenized money will fail to deliver on its promise if it remains siloed within individual banks, according to Ryan Rugg, Citigroups head of digital assets for treasury and trade solutions. Speaking at Consensus in Miami, Rugg said large corporate clients are not looking for single-bank solutions but systems that work seamlessly across financial institutions. “No one wants just a Citi token,” she said. “They want that multi-bank aspect of it.” The comment reflects a core challenge in the push to bring blockchain-based payments into mainstream finance. While banks have begun issuing tokenized deposits and building internal platforms, many of those systems operate within closed networks. For global companies, that approach falls short. Rugg said Citis clients often manage “hundreds, if not thousands of bank accounts across multiple banks globally,” creating complexity in moving money for payroll, suppliers and investments. Those clients are increasingly asking for real-time capabilities. In a survey Citi conducted several years ago, Rugg said the response was “basically unanimous” that faster, always-on payments were a top priority. Blockchain technology offers one path to that goal, but only if systems can connect. Citi has built its own tokenized platform and linked it to its broader banking network, including a

AI Video Editing Revolution: Tools, Tips, and Techniques

AI is reshaping the video editing process, offering creators unprecedented control and efficiency. Tools like Leonardo AI are enabling tasks that once required manual, time-intensive techniques—such as object removal, background replacement, and even mood adjustments like changing weather or lighting. Traditionally, removing objects or altering environments in video footage demanded meticulous frame-by-frame edits. Now, AI allows creators to achieve these effects with simple text prompts or reference images. For example, you can replace an actor‘s outfit across an entire scene or swap a sunny backdrop for a rainy one in seconds. This efficiency doesn’t just save time; it also reduces production costs, making high-quality edits accessible to smaller teams and budgets. Key Areas Where AI Excels The applications of AI video editing span several core areas:Object Editing: Remove unwanted elements, replace props, or populate empty environments. For instance, you could shoot a model in one outfit and use AI to generate an entire wardrobe lineup without reshooting.Subject Editing: Add, replace, or remove people from scenes. This is particularly useful for localized marketing campaigns where actors can be swapped to match regional demographics. Background Overhaul: Replace mundane environments with fantastical worlds or simulate green screens for complex post-production edits.Atmospheric Adjustments: Change weather conditions or time

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse says Clarity better than chaos as Senate hits key moment

Miami Beach, FL — Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple‘s CEO, has been closely following the U.S. Senate’s progress on the crypto market structure bill, and he said it‘s not a “done deal” as the next two weeks may be pivotal for the legislation’s chances. “If it doesn‘t happen then, I think the likelihood is going to drop precipitously,” Garlinghouse said Tuesday at Consensus 2026 in Miami. But he said he still thinks it’s likely to happen, and the next moment will be the scheduling of the Senate Banking Committees long-awaited hearing to “mark up” the bill and advance it to the next stage. Senators at the center of the negotiations over the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act revealed last week the latest compromise language on a major sticking point — stablecoin yield — that is expected to allow the banking panel to schedule the hearing. “Do I think it‘s perfect? Hell, no,” Garlinghouse said. “There’s tradeoffs and compromises, but I do think clarity is better than chaos.” The stablecoin compromise aims for a balance that allows crypto firms to pursue certain rewards programs without offering yield-bearing stablecoin accounts that resemble banks‘ interest-bearing deposits that fuel U.S. lending. Crypto insiders have generally agreed that it’s acceptable, but
