OneKey reproduces transaction replacement attack on outdated Ledger Ethereum app

The in-house security team at open-source wallet provider OneKey said it successfully reproduced an exploit targeting an outdated version of Ledgers on-device Ethereum application in a test environment. OneKey founder and CEO Yishi Wang said they executed a “transaction replacement attack” against Ledger Ethereum app 1.22.1 by exploiting a previously patched vulnerability that lets attackers overwrite the transaction waiting to be signed while the user is still reviewing the legitimate transaction. Ledger said exploiting the vulnerability required control over communications between the device and its host, such as through malware, compromised wallet software or a hostile webpage. Ledger added app-level safeguards with Ethereum app 1.22.2 released on Aug. 13, before fixing the underlying issue in Secure SDK 26.6.1 on Aug. 21. “No Ledger user was hacked. Whats described here is a lab reproduction of a vulnerability in an outdated version of the Ethereum app,” Ledger wrote in a Thursday X post. The security test follows the Coldcard exploit in July, when attackers exploited a firmware bug introduced in March 2021 that weakened seed randomness on some Coldcard wallets, leaving the resulting private keys vulnerable to brute-force attacks. Ledger had previously said its devices were not affected by the Coldcard vulnerability because recovery phrases are generated

UK government reports 240 crypto millionaires in 2025

The United Kingdoms tax reporting agency said that 240 people claimed more than 1 million British pounds ($1.4 million) in capital gains from digital assets in the previous tax year. According to data from HM Revenue and Customs released on Thursday, 240 people reported about $975 million combined from capital gains tied to cryptocurrency in the 2024 to 2025 tax year, with each reporting more than $1.4 million. This data included 17,600 individuals who reported digital asset gains over the same period, amounting to $1.9 billion, and $18.7 billion in “disposal” from selling or trading assets. “Taxes are due on cryptoasset gains just like any other gains, and we want to make sure people making gains from crypto know about what taxes they owe,” said James Murray, Financial Secretary to the UK Treasury and Paymaster General. Under the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development‘s (OECD’s) Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework, onchain crypto activity expected to be taxable totaled $457 billion globally in 2025. The UK will require crypto asset service providers to report data on crypto gains and losses under the framework that might not have otherwise been declared by taxpayers. The data came after the UK agency reportedly sent more than 81,000 letters to individuals

Nonfarm Payrolls face a reality check with key benchmark revision

US investors will watch on Friday a labor market report that is far less familiar than the monthly jobs release but has gained considerable importance following the spectacular revisionsof recent years. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) will publish its preliminary estimate of the annual benchmark revision to the payroll employment series for the twelve months ending March at 14:00 GMT. Behind its particularly technical name, the Preliminary Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) Benchmark Revision answers a relatively simple question: Has the number of payroll jobs reported month after month by US statisticians accurately reflected the reality of the labor market? The answer could have implications well beyond the statistics themselves. Another large downward revision would reinforce the view that the US labor market slowdown has been deeper than previously thought, while an upward revision could instead show that job creation has been underestimated. What is the Nonfarm Payrolls Benchmark Revision? The monthly US employment report relies, among other sources, on the Current Employment Statistics (CES) survey, which collects data from businesses and government agencies to estimate the number of payroll employees in the United States (US). Like any survey based on a sample, however, it is subject to a margin of error.Once a year, the Bureau

Silver Price Analysis: Can Silver Break $70 As Fed Risks Clash With Supply Deficit?

Silver is trading under pressure near $68 to $69 per ounce as investors weigh persistent inflation, Federal Reserve policy expectations, and a more cautious institutional outlook against an increasingly tight long-term supply picture. After losing momentum following its latest rebound, silver is approaching a technical zone that could determine whether the recovery extends above $70 or gives way to another correction. The near-term silver price analysis remains closely tied to interest rates. Stronger US inflation data has increased expectations for another Fed rate hike before year-end, while traders are awaiting Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warshs Jackson Hole speech for additional guidance. With the metal still trading near historically elevated levels, investors using a silver profit calculator can assess how different entry prices and potential moves around the $70 threshold could affect returns. At the same time, a fifth consecutive annual silver supply deficit and continued trend-following demand are providing fundamental support beneath the market. Silver Slips Below $69 Ahead of Fed Chair Warshs Jackson Hole Speech Silver recently traded around $68.80 per ounce after posting modest gains in the previous session, with investors turning cautious ahead of Warshs Jackson Hole address. Markets are looking for signals on whether persistent inflation will force the

BCH Price Prediction: Bulls Cornered at $263 — $277 Breakout or Flush to $255 Dead Ahead

Timothy Morano Aug 28, 2026 07:48 BCH is stalling at a momentum inflection point with smart money sitting 65.8% long and MACD histogram dead flat at zero — a $277 breakout is live within 48 hours, but if buyers dont step up fast, … The Immediate Setup BCH is bleeding out a quiet 2.12% on the day, printing $263.10 after tagging a 24-hour high of $274.10 — and that rejection matters. Price has slipped back below the 7-day SMA sitting at $269.91, which tells you short-term momentum has rolled over even as the broader trend remains constructive. The medium-term picture isnt broken: BCH is trading a full $28 above its 20-day SMA and nearly $38 clear of the 50-day, meaning the multi-week bid is still intact. But zoom out and the uncomfortable truth slaps you in the face — the 200-day SMA looms at $348.77, nearly 33% above current price. This is not a bull market recovery story yet. This is a counter-trend rally trying to find conviction. The MACD histogram printing exactly zero is the number that should have every BCH trader‘s attention right now. Momentum has converged to a dead stop — not bearish capitulation, not bullish acceleration. It’s a coin flip being

Pi Network‘s Major AI Change Is Now Live: Here’s What Pioneers Need to Know

The latest features expanded Pi Desktops capabilities with a local AI agent and a tool designed to connect AI assistants with Jira. Pi Network announced yesterday another expansion of SoloHost, adding OpenClaw and Atlassian MCP Server as featured applications available through the native Pi Desktop. The two new additions were initially introduced alongside the recent Node 0.6.2 update, which we reported a few weeks ago, but are not being formally highlighted by the team as examples of how they intend to expand the utility of their Nodes beyond simply supporting the blockchain. AI Push Expanded The official blog post from the team highlighted the more broadly applicable addition called OpenClaw. Its a locally run AI agent capable of assisting users with various tasks and operating using either a locally hosted AI model or external ones such as ChatGPT and Claude. Its memory is stored locally on the users computer in either configuration, although requests sent to cloud models are still processed by the external providers. The team explained that running OpenClaw through SoloHost places the agent inside a container that restricts its default access to unrelated files and resources on the users computer. Pi Desktop handles much of the technical setup automatically, reducing the need for

Solana traders on OnlyFans just saved a 64-year marmot wildlife study after federal funding stopped

Every summer in Gothic, Colorado, a yellow-bellied marmot walks into a wire trap baited with oats and peanut butter. A scientist weighs it, takes samples, checks its ear tags, paints a temporary identification mark on its back, and releases it back into the mountain meadow. The record follows family lines, health, behavior, reproduction, and survival across generations, allowing biologists to see patterns that take much longer than a typical three-year research grant to emerge. That record came close to acquiring a permanent blank this year when the National Science Foundation declined the teams latest request for continued support. The scientists then began looking for money in places Kenneth Armitage, the biologist who started the project in 1962, could hardly have imagined. UCLA professor Daniel Blumstein proposed a G-rated OnlyFans account called OnlyMarms, and an independent group of crypto traders later created a Solana meme coin whose creator fees have generated more than $150,000 for
