Nasdaq deepens Kraken ties with proposed $100 million Payward investment

Nasdaq has agreed to invest $100 million in Payward, the parent company of Kraken, while Payward plans to adopt Nasdaq market-surveillance technology across its trading businesses. The two moves add capital and market-integrity infrastructure to an existing partnership focused on tokenized equities. The proposed investment, made through Nasdaq Ventures, gives the relationship a new financial dimension. Nasdaq and Payward also said they will continue developing the operational and commercial systems for planned Nasdaq Equity Tokens, or NETs. According to the companies announcement, Payward will deploy Nasdaq surveillance tools across a portfolio of trading venues that includes crypto, equities, tokenized equities, futures and options. That expands the relationship beyond the planned distribution and settlement framework for NETs and into technology used to monitor trading across several markets. Related Company Nasdaq An American stock exchange The announcement describes an agreement to invest, not a completed transaction. It does not disclose a closing date, Payward valuation, ownership percentage or governance rights for Nasdaq. The available terms therefore do not establish how much influence Nasdaq could gain over Payward. The partnership predates the investment. In March, the companies announced plans for an equities transformation gateway connecting Nasdaqs proposed issuer-sponsored tokens with Paywards xStocks tokenized-equity ecosystem in eligible jurisdictions. Australian Dollar holds firm as hotter US inflation fails to cement Greenback's advantage

AUD/USD is edging higher today but is yet to retake the 0.7200 mark on Friday. The pair is clawing back part of the previous sessions sharp sell-off after hitting multi-month highs in the high 0.7200s. The recovery holds even after a firmer-than-expected United States (US) inflation print that would normally weigh on the Aussie. US core Consumer Price Index (CPI) data ran hotter than forecast in August, strengthening the case for a Federal Reserve (Fed) rate hike at next weeks meeting. Though headline CPI rose 0.4% MoM, in line with expectations, core inflation increased 0.3%, its fastest pace since April and above the 0.2% consensus. Higher Crude and rising front-end yields would normally support the US Dollar, but it has struggled to follow either signal. A growing US policy premium has taken hold of FX pricing and weakened those traditional links. Investors remain wary of the policy mix, the fiscal outlook, and efforts to hold down long-term borrowing costs. That hesitation is helping the Aussie keep its ground. The 2-year US Treasury yield, the one most sensitive to Fed policy, pushed up to around 4.62% and rose roughly 3 basis points on the day as it leaned into a near-term interest rate hike.

Bank stablecoins can earn DeFi yield, but holders bear the risk: Katana CEO

Katana CEO Matt Fisher has said a dollar stablecoin planned by 21 financial institutions for the first half of 2027 could generate yield through independent DeFi protocols, although holders would assume risks not covered by its issuing banks. Katana CEO Matt Fisher told crypto.news that the GENIUS Act restriction applies to permitted stablecoin issuers, not necessarily to how holders use tokens after receiving them, though he described his position as a market-structure view rather than legal advice. “The GENIUS Act stops the issuer from paying yield; it doesn‘t stop the holder from putting the dollar to work somewhere the issuer doesn’t control. Once a compliant stablecoin leaves the issuer and moves into an independent protocol, yield can come from genuine economic activity.” Bank stablecoins may leave tokenized cash idle Fishers comments follow a Sep. 1 commitment by Bank of America, Citi, Goldman Sachs, UBS and 17 other financial institutions to establish a new stablecoin company during the second half of 2026, subject to closing conditions. As detailed in a recent 21-firm stablecoin plan, the unnamed venture expects to introduce a dollar-denominated token in the first half of 2027. It may later add tokens tied to other G7 currencies, with a euro product listed as its

Indian state Maharashtra eyes tokenized power grid funding

Indias Maharashtra state has begun preparing policies to tokenize up to 50% of selected electricity transmission assets to finance new power lines and solar energy storage facilities. SummaryMaharashtra may tokenize 40% to 50% of selected transmission lines.Token holders could receive part of the revenue generated by Maharashtra Transco.Proceeds could finance new transmission capacity and solar power storage centers. The proposed DELTA Act would cover blockchain-based property tokenization across the state. Maharashtra considers tokens tied to power revenue Praveen Pardeshi, chief economic adviser to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and CEO of the Maharashtra Institution for Transformation, outlined the plan at The Box Launch, an invitation-only event held at the World Trade Center in Mumbai. Real estate tokenization company RealX and MST Blockchain hosted the event, where Pardeshi described how Maharashtra could use digital tokens to raise money against revenue-producing state assets without selling the assets outright. Under one possible structure, the state could tokenize 40% to 50% of an electricity transmission line. Investors who purchase the tokens would then receive a share of the income earned by Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company, commonly known as Maharashtra Transco. Anchorage Digital adds institutional access to Frgmnts fUSD stablecoin

Anchorage Digital has partnered with stablecoin protocol Frgmnt to give institutional clients access to its fUSD and sfUSD tokens through Anchorages custody platform. Frgmnt is a stablecoin protocol built on Base that issues fUSD against USDC, with the backing deployed across onchain lending markets. Users can stake fUSD for sfUSD to earn rewards generated by the protocols underlying strategies. Canadian Dollar slides as Oil tumbles, US CPI fails to lift USD

USD/CAD rises 0.27% on Friday and trades around 1.3870 at the time of writing, after reaching a daily high of 1.3882 in the immediate reaction to the release of United States (US) inflation data. The pair is on track for a third consecutive day of gains, supported by the US Dollars (USD) initial reaction to the data and a sharp decline in Oil prices that weighs on the Canadian Dollar (CAD). The US Consumer Price Index (CPI) rises 3.4% YoY in August, unchanged from the previous month and in line with market expectations, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on Friday. On a monthly basis, prices increase 0.4%, following a rise of just 0.1% previously. The underlying figures provide a slightly firmer signal. The Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy components, rises 0.3% MoM, exceeding the 0.2% forecast. On an annual basis, however, core inflation eases to 2.4% from 2.5% in July. The US Dollar briefly strengthened following the release as investors reacted to the stronger-than-expected monthly increase in core inflation. However, the Greenback struggles to retain its gains as the annual figures show no renewed acceleration in inflationary pressures. On the Canadian side, selling pressure is

14% Gain for Raydium (RAY): Bulls Are Now Eyeing the $2 Resistance

As of September 11 in the crypto market, among the digital assets, Raydium (RAY) is trading within the $1.52 range, up by over 14.4%. Its 24-hour volume is settled at around $266.71 million, with a session range between $1.26 and $1.75. Moreover, over the past seven days, the token has climbed from $0.80 to $1.75, an 85.9% gain that puts it at its highest price since January. On the weekly timeframe, buyers broke through multiple horizontal resistance levels in an explosive expansion from the lower demand floors. Sustaining this price zone above the newly reclaimed levels is what keeps the bullish structure intact. Notably, it opens the path toward higher overhead resistance zones. On the other hand, StonkFun routing all new launches through Raydium LaunchLab has brought a direct and sustained demand driver to the platform. Tokenised stocks, including Backpacks Grindr token, are now routing through Raydium, expanding its utility beyond traditional DeFi activity. CPI and PPI climb, crushing hopes for cheap money and leaving Bitcoin traders with an expensive dilemma

US consumer prices increased faster in August, giving the Federal Reserve another reason to be cautious about lowering interest rates and leaving Bitcoin investors exposed to a prolonged period of expensive borrowing. Related Asset Bitcoin #1 BTC · $77,315.51 24-hour change: up 0.26% 24H Up 0.26% 7D Down 2.65% 30D Up 21.89% The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.4% from July, when it increased 0.1%, while the annual inflation rate held at 3.4%. Excluding food and energy, prices rose 0.3%, compared with 0.2% a month earlier, even as the annual core rate eased to 2.4% from 2.5%. Thursdays producer price report (PPI) showed a 0.4% monthly increase and a 5.4% annual gain. Energy accounted for much of the increase in both reports, although the faster monthly core CPI reading showed that consumer inflation also picked up outside fuel and food. That combination weakens the argument that slower annual inflation will soon bring lower interest rates. Investors holding cash can continue earning interest elsewhere, while those borrowing to invest face financing costs that reduce what they can earn from an increase in Bitcoins price. The Feds Sept. 15–16 meeting will put those costs back in the spotlight. The releases will enable officials to keep policy restrictive,

BTC Price Analysis: What Are Bitcoins Key Support Levels After $80K Rejection?

Bitcoin is approaching a critical point after spending the past several weeks digesting its powerful August rally. With the price slipping back toward the lower boundary of its recent structure and participation remaining relatively subdued, the market is increasingly dependent on the $76K-$77K area to prevent the current correction from extending further. Bitcoin Price Analysis: The Daily Chart Bitcoins daily structure remains significantly stronger than it was before the August breakout. The impulsive rally carried the asset through the major $66K-$67K and $72K-$74K resistance zones, as well as both major moving averages, before reaching the $80K-$82K supply area. However, the price has repeatedly failed to establish acceptance above this upper resistance zone. The latest sequence of candles shows declining momentum and a gradual retreat toward $77K, while the RSI has cooled considerably from its previous overbought readings. This suggests that the initial bullish impulse is losing strength, at least temporarily. The $76K-$77K region is now the first important support area. Holding it could allow BTC to continue consolidating beneath the $80K-$82K resistance zone before another breakout attempt. Yet a decisive daily breakdown below $76K would make a deeper correction increasingly likely, with the $72K-$74K former resistance zone representing the next major support. Despite the short-term
