Key Insights:The crypto market rises as easing geopolitical tension sparks strong buying across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Altcoins.Coinbase Premium stays negative, leaving U.S. spot demand yet to confirm the crypto market recovery.Bitcoin gains above $86,000 as traders point to a possible bull market and watch for a higher low The crypto market is moving higher today as easing geopolitical tension gives traders room to buy, while Bitcoin pushes above $86,000. Yet the move is not fully backed by U.S. spot demand, with the Coinbase Premium Index still below zero as traders watch the recovery and await confirmation. Geopolitical Tension Eases And The Crypto Market Jumps The main reason why the crypto market is up today can be linked to a sudden change in the geopolitical picture. According to Darkfost, a major military operation the United States had been preparing was abandoned over the weekend. The news reduced some tension hanging over markets and helped trading open on a stronger note. That shift quickly reached crypto derivatives. At the opening of the European market, net taker volume on Binance rose from $11 million to $618 million in about an hour. That is a large jump in buying activity in a short period and shows how quickly

Ondo Finance Lets Institutions Swap Real Shares for

Ondo Finance has introduced a new in-kind conversion feature that lets institutions exchange eligible traditional shares for tokenized versions of those stocks on Ethereum and BNB Chain. According to a September 21 announcement, the feature connects shares held through Alpaca accounts with onchain markets. Institutions can transfer eligible shares to Ondo and receive corresponding Ondo Stocks tokens. They can later redeem the tokens for the underlying shares. How The Conversion Works Institutions transfer eligible shares to Ondos Alpaca account through an internal book transfer. Once the shares arrive, Ondo issues the corresponding tokenized stocks on supported blockchain networks. Related: KuCoin Launches Futures Elite+ With Up to 32% Profit Share and $700 Monthly Salary To redeem the tokens, institutions send them back to Ondo. The underlying shares are then transferred back to the investor. Alpaca must approve institutions before they can use the feature. Participants also need accounts with both Alpaca and Ondo and must complete the required onboarding steps. Tokenized Stocks Expand The structure allows market makers to use existing share holdings to support token inventories without first raising cash. This gives them another way to respond to demand for tokenized stocks. Ondo said the model could support tighter spreads and deeper liquidity. However, those potential benefits depend on

As Wall Street Turns Suddenly Bullish, Questions Arise if Bitcoin Will Follow or Flop

Wall Street strategists say markets have cleared several of Septembers biggest fears. Bitcoin (BTC) jumped more than 6% to trade near $86,600 as risk appetite returned. Anastasia Amoroso is chief investment strategist at Partners Group. She told CNBCs Closing Bell that fears over oil, artificial intelligence (AI) safety and higher rates have eased. That has cleared room for stocks to climb further into year end. Fed and BOJ Hikes Fail to Rattle Markets The Federal Reserve and the Bank of Japan (BOJ) both raised interest rates this month. The move initially unsettled investors bracing for tighter policy. Ryan Detrick, chief market strategist at Carson Group, said the Feds tone came across as more dovish than expected. That has helped extend a stretch in which the S&P 500 has gone 37 days without a 1% decline. That steadiness echoes a markets resilience pattern strategists have flagged recently. Investor caution, in that view, has acted as fuel rather than a warning sign. Katie Stockton, founder of Fairlead Strategies, said mega-cap technology and semiconductor stocks are again leading the advance. She called that rotation necessary for the broader uptrend to hold. Will the Bitcoin Rally Follow Stocks Higher? The optimism raises a pointed question for crypto investors. Will Bitcoin ride the

The Japanese Yen keeps sliding after the Bank of Japan's split vote

Japans markets are shut from Monday to Wednesday for national holidays, which is when a government that wants to move its currency gets the most for its money. USD/JPY is higher for a fifth session in six and is trading just below 157.50. On Friday the Nikkei reported that Japanese officials had called banks to check exchange rates, a step that often comes before Japan buys Yen. The Fed and the Bank of Japan each added a quarter-point, and the gap ends up where it was The Bank of Japan (BoJ) raised its rate to 1.25% from 1% on September 18, the highest since 1995, and the Yen fell on the decision anyway. BoJ board members Asada and Sato voted against, saying inflation under 2% and an economy that hasn‘t sped up don’t justify an increase. Traders had been buying the Yen on the expectation of more increases, and two votes against this one made that harder to believe. Japan‘s core inflation rate, which leaves out fresh food, came out at 1.7% for August on the day of the decision, down from 1.8%. That’s the measure board member Asada cited for his vote. Board members Takata and Tamura voted for the increase and

The British Pound slips again as bets on an October Fed hike build

GBP/USD has stalled at 1.3400 in each of the last three sessions, and it trades just under that level again on Monday. The Dollar is up against most major currencies, so this is more a Dollar move than a Pound one. Traders put the odds of a second Fed increase on October 28 at 53%, according to CME FedWatch, up from about 40% straight after the September 16 decision. The UK calendar before Friday has a borrowing figure, two surveys and three speeches, and none of them changes the UKs interest rate. A second Fed increase is now more likely than not, eight days before the Bank of England next meets Chicago Fed President Goolsbee said in London on Monday that if US inflation is coming from overheated demand as well as from oil and tariffs, the Fed‘s increases should be bigger and come sooner. Talk like that raises the odds of an October increase, and higher odds have meant a stronger Dollar against the Pound since September 16. Fed Chair Warsh said on September 16 that the Fed needn’t hurt the job market to cut inflation, and President Goolsbee‘s remarks say doing it fast means pushing employment below the Fed’s goal. The

Bitcoin rallies near $86K on improving markets ahead of quarterly options expiry

Bitcoin (BTC) market conditions improved over the past week as spot buying pressure strengthened and derivatives positioning increased, pushing the top crypto near $86,000. Spot demand strengthens as Bitcoin momentum recovers BTCs price momentum rose from 47.7 to 53.6, representing a 12.5% weekly increase. The recovery pushed momentum toward the middle of its range, suggesting that price action has stabilized after recent weakness, according to a Monday report from Glassnode. “This recovery from previous lows reflects improving price action and a shift away from immediate selling pressure,” Glassnode wrote. According to Glassnode, the liquidity expansion reflected stronger participation across centralized exchanges and provided additional support for the recent price recovery. The scarcity trade is accelerating – And hard assets could be the biggest winners

There are moments when markets do more than move. They change regime. 2026 increasingly looks like one of them. A major conflict is reshaping the Middle East. Russias war in Ukraine continues to disrupt energy and commodity infrastructure. The United States is heading towards its November Midterm Elections, while Central banks have begun tightening monetary policy again for the first-time in more than three years. Sovereign debt is approaching historic extremes, alongside an unprecedented artificial-intelligence infrastructure boom, which is demanding vast amounts of Electricity, Copper, Aluminium, Natural Gas and Critical Materials. Individually, each of these forces are creating a powerful cascade of back-to-back lucrative trading opportunities. Their convergence is what makes this cycle potentially historic. “Few periods in modern market history have brought together geopolitical disruption, inflation, fiscal stress, resource scarcity and a once-in-a-generation infrastructure build-out at the same time,” says Lars Hansen, Head of Research at The Gold & Silver Club. “That is precisely the type of environment in which extraordinary wealth creation can occur.” Markets are already paying a premium for scarcity. The evidence is visible in prices. From their 2026 lows, European Natural Gas has surged 204%, Heating Oil 149% and Diesel 136%. Gasoline has more than doubled, Jet Fuel has gained 98%, while WTI

The Federal Reserve is shadowboxing inflation

Kevin Warsh and his minions at the Federal Reserve are shadowboxing. Mind you, they should certainly be battling inflation. But instead, they seem to be fighting rising oil prices. Thats not the same thing. Inflation, properly defined, is an increase in the supply of money and credit. Price inflation – rising consumer prices – is one symptom of this monetary inflation. However, other things can cause price inflation, including oil shocks. The difference between a price shock and inflation is that a price shock only raises some prices. Monetary inflation causes a rise in the general price level, and its the only thing that produces such an effect. As economist Milton Friedman put it, “Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon, in the sense that it is and can be produced only by a more rapid increase in the quantity of money than in output.” Dont get me wrong. There is plenty of inflation in the system, evidenced by the increasing money supply. By the M2 metric, inflation is running around 5 percent right now. However, Warsh and Co., along with the markets and pretty much everybody in the mainstream financial media, are fixated on oil prices. I‘m not saying rising fuel prices aren’t important.
