Theyve almost tripled since the begining of this month, with 405,000 eth, worth about half a billion, now going long. Thats up from ◊130,000 on the 6th of May. Another jump on June the 1st sent it from ◊170,000 to ◊270,000. As eths price continued to fall, a further spike on the 13th of June increased longs to ◊320,000. Then the plunge below $1,000 this weekend upped them above ◊400,000 for the first time since ethereum began to fall. Shorts by comparison have dived lower and lower, from 260,000 eth on the 9th of May to now just ◊22,000. So the market clearly thinks ethereums price is currently at the lower range, and is even undervalued to some extent. Few are willing to short here with a longer term view, and the more it falls the more are willing to long in the expectation that eventually theyll be right. These are Bitfinex longs, so low margin and usually with a calculation of months or sometime even years. Some of them consider it like taking out a loan, but
