Younger Investors Could Help Bitcoin ETFs Overtake Gold: Analyst

The analyst says Bitcoins biggest hurdle with investors is volatility, but he expects that concern to fade as the market matures. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said this week that Bitcoin ETFs could eventually reach three times the assets of gold ETFs, pointing to younger investors, falling volatility and stronger sales activity around BTC funds. His view rests on a long-term shift in who owns Bitcoin and how institutions use it, rather than a claim that the cryptocurrency has already displaced gold as a store of value. Balchunas Sees Bitcoin Closing the Gap With Gold In a recent interview with Bitcoin Magazine, Balchunas said younger investors are more likely to grow up treating Bitcoin as a store of value, giving Bitcoin ETFs a potential advantage as those investors accumulate more capital. “I do believe that Bitcoin ETFs will triple gold in assets,” he said. Right now, gold is less volatile than BTC, and according to the analyst, volatility is the main concern investors report when considering the flagship cryptocurrency. But if its volatility and correlation with other assets continue moving closer to gold, he expects larger institutions to become more comfortable using it as a store of value, a safe haven asset or an alternative holding. Offshore Bitcoin futures crash 97% as traders abandon traditional risk

A strange thing has happened to Bitcoins derivatives market over the past five years. The market is larger, institutions play a much bigger role, exchanges offer more sophisticated products, and traders have become far better at moving risk around. At the same time, one of the products that helped build that market has almost disappeared from the crypto-native venues where Bitcoin derivatives first took off. Ethereum (ETH) price moved above key resistance on Sept. 20, 2026, as buyers defended the $2,500 area. Coinbase data showed Ethereum price trading near $2,635 during Sundays session after reclaiming levels watched by short-term traders. The move shifted focus toward $2,700 and $3,000, although analysts remained divided on follow-through. The breakout followed several volatile sessions around $2,400 and $2,600. That range left traders focused on confirmation above former resistance rather than the initial recovery alone. Futures positioning and exchange-traded fund flows also showed substantial leverage and mixed institutional demand. XRP Whale Accumulation Hits $2.2 Billion as Price Eyes These Next Targets

XRP whales bought $2.2 billion worth of tokens in 96 hours. Will the accumulation finally trigger a breakout past resistance? Whales have scooped up about 1.54B XRP tokens over the past 96 hours. That accumulation is worth about $2.2 billion at current prices. At publication, XRP trades at $1.38, per CoinGecko data. The token is down 4.20% over the past day but up 2.70% over the past week. Daily trading volume sits near $2.46 billion. XRP Whale Accumulation Builds Amid Recovery Phase Market analyst Ali Charts flagged the whale surge. He cited Santiment data showing large-holder balances climbing to 9.81 billion XRP. The buying came as XRP price recovered from lower levels, trading about $1.33 and $1.40. Such heavy accumulation can indicate that larger investors are positioning ahead of a potential price move. Options Nearly Double Their Share as Crypto Derivatives Market Shifts: Report

Options are taking a larger role in crypto derivatives as traders increasingly use them for hedging and volatility trading. Crypto derivatives markets are moving toward two main products, perpetual futures and options. Perpetuals provide continuous leverage, while options are becoming more important for pricing and managing risk. That shift is also visible in how traders are allocating capital across derivatives. A Glassnode study produced with Bybit found that options increased their share of Bitcoin notional open interest from about 25% to nearly 50%. Meanwhile, dated futures have lost ground in the crypto market. Options Are Becoming More Important Dated futures volume is now roughly 97% below its 2021 level, according to the study. Perpetual futures have taken a larger role in leverage, while options have gained ground in volatility trading and hedging. The growth in options has not been limited to bullish market conditions. Glassnode found that options gained market share in four of the five market regimes it examined since 2019. The largest increase came during a prolonged bear market, when demand for hedging can become more important. This suggests that traders use options not only for directional bets but also to manage risk. Recent venue data shows that the shift is also changing where

Hyperliquid Enables HYPE and BTC Loans in Manual Borrows

Hyperliquid said in its September 18 announcement that manual borrowing was live, enabling users to post HYPE or Bitcoin as collateral and borrow USDC or USDT. According to the protocol, the service runs on HyperCore infrastructure and provides direct borrowing alongside Hyperliquids existing automated portfolio-margin system. Hyperliquid reported $269 million in assets borrowed on the launch day. Manual borrowing beyond portfolio margin Hyperliquids documentation lists HYPE and BTC as supported collateral assets and USDC and USDT as available to borrow. Users can therefore take a direct stablecoin loan against either HYPE or Bitcoin. The feature extends borrowing beyond Hyperliquids automated portfolio-margin system by allowing users to establish a collateralised loan directly. Cointelegraph likewise described the rollout in those terms. Hyperliquid said manual borrowing uses the same HyperCore infrastructure as portfolio margin and reported $269 million in assets borrowed on launch day. Collateral limits and rate mechanics The borrowing terms differ according to the asset posted. Reported documentation parameters place the maximum loan-to-value ratio at 65% for HYPE collateral and 50% for BTC collateral, according to CoinDesks account of the launch. In practical terms, the stated ceilings allow a larger proportion of a HYPE position to be borrowed against than an equivalent-value BTC position. Borrowing rates are not fixed.

Open-source Memecoin launchpad adds 1,373 lines of solidity in latest development release

In crypto, a roadmap can describe what a project wants to build. Public code shows what developers have started to build already. That distinction is especially important for a memecoin launchpad, where users need to know how funding, token supply, refunds, and liquidity are meant to work. MemeToro has released 1,373 lines of Solidity code across 17 files in its latest update. The project is building an AI-led fair-launch platform on BNB Chain and has raised more than $139,000 in its $0.00430 Stage 7 presale. The open-source update gives buyers and developers a clearer view of the proposed system, including its smart-contract rules and the work still required before mainnet deployment. About MemeToro and its new AI agent on BNB chain MemeToro is a planned BNB Chain ecosystem for discovering, funding, and trading memecoins. Its main goal is to use an AI agent to research trends and propose launches with documented reasons instead of relying on unverified hype. The agent is designed to collect social, market, and news evidence. It then prepares a launch manifest that users can read before deciding whether to support a round. The launch manifest is meant to show the proposed token structure, price, funding cap, and data sources. It gives buyers

After sinking to $2,360.70 around Sept. 16, ETH ripped to $2,668 per coin before cooling around $2,600, reclaiming levels not seen since January. Yet zoom out, and the comeback looks very different. Ether is still about 47% below its October 2025 peak near $4,946, while the ETH/BTC ratio sits near 0.032, miles below its 2021 high around 0.08. That gap is precisely why the year-end debate has gotten interesting. ETH‘s price has spent much of this cycle trailing bitcoin’s (BTC) price, but roughly 35% of its supply is now staked, exchange balances have been falling, and spot ETH ETFs hold around $16.7 billion in assets. XRP price prediction after whales load up $2 billion in 96 hours

XRP is attracting renewed attention after whale wallets accumulated approximately 1.54 billion tokens worth about $2.2 billion within 96 hours, a move that has strengthened the bullish case for the cryptocurrency as it trades near $1.41. The accumulation comes at a time when market sentiment across digital assets has improved, with investors increasingly returning to risk assets. The scale of the buying activity has fueled speculation that large holders are positioning for a potential move higher after XRPs recent recovery. In this case, data shared by market analyst Ali Martinez in an X post, citing Santiment, shows that XRP holdings among large wallets climbed from roughly 8.27 billion tokens on September 15 to about 9.81 billion by September 19.
